White House: “Open For Questions” Stats

Quick statistics (as of 3/25/2009 at 4:06 PM) for some popular terms based on the search results on the White House’s “Open For Questions” site:

  • Economy: 2194 questions
  • Business: 1544
  • Mortgage: 970
  • Bailout: 662
  • AIG: 532
  • Small Business: 481
  • Marijuana: 514
  • Drugs: 457
  • War: 345
  • Veteran: 342
  • Big Business: 188
  • Environment: 164
  • Corporate: 144
  • “Tax Cut”: 46
  • Guns: 43
  • Abortion: 37
  • Drugs Prescription: 34
  • Stem cell: 30

This is, by no means, a scientific study of the terms on this site; I just started to notice a lot of questions about legalizing drugs, and decided to see how many there were, which led to seeing how many there were on other “current” topics. (Based on my own un-scientific experience.)

The only conclusion is that Americans:

  • Are worried about the economy …
  • Their small businesses …
  • Paying their mortgage …
  • Fixing the bailout and penalizing AIG, and … (drum fill)
  • Getting high

You have to love this country.
